Your diary is stored on your phone and nowhere else. Daybook has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no servers. CartlyDev has no way to read what you write, because none of it ever reaches us.

All of this lives in Daybook's private app storage, which other apps cannot read on a normal device.

Nothing. Daybook contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. It makes no network requests of its own, so your entries, photos, voice notes and moods never leave this phone. Daybook also does not use Android's automatic cloud backup — your diary is never copied to Google Drive or any other backup service.

The one exception is entirely under your control: when you export your journal, the PDF is created on your device and goes only to the app you pick from the share sheet. Nothing is sent automatically.

Android's own scheduling library adds a few background permissions on Daybook's behalf — network state, wake lock, and start-on-boot. They exist so the daily reminder can be scheduled reliably and survive a restart. Daybook uses none of them to send or receive data.

The passcode and fingerprint lock stop someone casually opening Daybook on your unlocked phone. They are a privacy screen, not encryption.

Your entries are stored unencrypted in Daybook's private storage. Someone with deep access to the device — a rooted phone, a full backup, or forensic tools — could read them. Please do not treat the app lock as protection against a determined attacker.

Deleting a page removes it, along with any photo or voice note attached to it. Clearing the app's data, or uninstalling Daybook, removes everything permanently. Because there is no cloud copy, this cannot be undone — export first if you want to keep anything.

Daybook is not directed at children under 13, and CartlyDev does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If the way Daybook handles data changes, this policy will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. The same wording is shown inside the app under Settings.

Questions about privacy, or about anything above, are welcome at ahmaaaad1113@gmail.com.

Terms of use
Last updated August 2026

Daybook is made by CartlyDev. By using the app you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.

Everything you put in Daybook belongs to you. CartlyDev claims no ownership of it, no licence to use it, and has no way to read it — your pages never leave your device.

Daybook stores your diary only on this phone. You are responsible for keeping backups of anything you would be upset to lose.

Use Export journal in Settings to save a PDF before you uninstall the app, reset the phone, or switch devices. Data lost that way cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else.

Please don't:

Daybook is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it stable and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device and Android version.

To the extent the law allows, CartlyDev is not liable for lost entries, lost photos or voice notes, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using Daybook. This matters most around backups — please export regularly.

Features may be added, changed or removed as Daybook develops, and these terms may be updated to match. The date at the top shows the most recent version, and continuing to use the app means accepting it.

Anything unclear here, or a problem with the app, can go to cartlydev@gmail.com.
